National Skills Challenge
Roker Park Golf Course is a National Skills Centre for the ‘Get Into Golf’ National Skills Challenge devised by the England Golf Partnership (EGU & ELGU) to test the skills of young golfers.
The National Skills Challenge aims to improve juniors golfing ability, increase enjoyment and provide encouragement to practice the skills required to play golf. Most importantly the challenge aims to be FUN.
The Tru-Golf Junior Coaching Programme incorporates the National Skills Challenges into its coaching sessions giving all our junior players plenty of opportunity to learn and improve the techniques required, and to practice the challenges themselves.
We encourage all of our juniors to take part in the Official Seasonal Challenges when they are held at Roker Park Golf Course.
For more information on, and to register for, the National Skills Challenge please visit the offical website www.getintogolf.org/skills here.
Any junior under the age of 17 can take part in the National Skills Challenge, they do not necessarily have to be a member of our coaching programme or Roker Park Golf Club.
Juniors wishing to take part in the National Skills Challenge should first be registered online at www.getintogolf.org/skills and then booked onto one of the seasonal challenge days with Tru-Golf in the professionals shop at Roker Park. To do this contact us here.
The Surrey County Golf Union have incorporated the National Skills Challenge into their Nike Golf Rookie Tour. A series of competitions for junior golfers who are not quite ready for county level competition. For more information on the Rookie Tour click here.
